Close call : lucky shot / Sydney Miller.

Ashley has lived with her best friend, Jenna, ever since her parents died. Feeling lost for many years, Ashley finds purpose in her life when she joins her high school tennis team alongside Jenna. By their senior year, Jenna and Ashley are favored to win the state doubles tournament. Having too lost her parents as a kid, Krista, the head tennis coach, takes Ashley under her wing. She and her best friend and assistant tennis coach, Nicole, convince the girls to join the Women Power Club, a local non-profit whose mission is to empower women through community engagement. The duo’s tennis career is jeopardized when a group of men interrupt one of their Women Power meetings and hold the women hostage. Krista and Ashley attempt to fight off the intruders until the police arrive. Krista walks away with minor injuries, but Ashley requires immediate surgery with her fate still unknown. Because Ashley reminds her so much of herself, Krista vows to not leave the hospital without her. The more Ashley’s condition worsens, the more vulnerable Krista becomes, eventually falling in love with Jeremy, a paramedic who hasn’t left her side since the accident.
